Magpai

Migrating from ChatGPT

Bring your ChatGPT projects and custom GPTs into Magpai.

ChatGPT and OpenAI don't offer an automatic way to export your data to other platforms, but you can manually transfer your projects and context to Magpai with a few steps.

Exporting ChatGPT Projects to Magpai

If you've been using ChatGPT Projects to organize your work, here's how to bring that context into Magpai:

  1. Create a folder in your Magpai Brain where you want the context to live
  2. Copy the project instructions from ChatGPT into the context of your new folder
  3. Download and re-upload files - download any files from your ChatGPT project and upload them to your Magpai folder
  4. Ask ChatGPT to summarize - you can ask ChatGPT to summarize key information from your conversations, then copy that into a sticky note in your folder

Exporting Custom GPTs to Magpai

Custom GPTs can be recreated in Magpai using folders with context and workflows:

  1. Create a folder for your custom GPT's knowledge base
  2. Copy the instructions from your Custom GPT's configuration into the folder's context
  3. Upload knowledge files - any files you added to your Custom GPT can be uploaded to the folder
  4. Create a workflow (optional) - if your Custom GPT had specific behaviors, you can recreate them as a Magpai workflow

Exporting Conversations

Coming soon: ChatGPT allows you to download a full copy of all your past conversations. We're working on a way to import these directly into Magpai.

Tips for a Smooth Transition

  • Start with your most important projects first
  • Use Magpai's folder context feature to give Maggie the same background knowledge your Custom GPTs had
  • Take advantage of Magpai's integrations - connect tools that ChatGPT couldn't access
  • Ask Maggie to help you organize - she can suggest folder structures and summarize content
